The Growing Center

The Greenhouse Program presents the opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities to learn work skills in the Growing Center, a retail greenhouse setting. Workers care for plants: learning skills such as watering and transplanting houseplants, working outside in the vegetable gardens or flowerbeds and keeping a shop neat and clean.

The Growing Center is open for business from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm weekdays enabling the worker to also learn appropriate customer relations. Besides being exposed to horticultural skills, workers in The Growing Center greenhouse are able to learn general work skills that will transfer to jobs in other fields opening up the opportunity for the individual to work in the competitive community.
