SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT
Our Supported Employment Program is designed to assist adults with developmental disabilities in locating and securing community jobs at competitive wages. Some of our clients employers include: Bristol Hospital, Stop & Shop, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Komanetsky Estates, Price Chopper and Vita's Italian Restaurant. We do a variety of jobs, which consist of: dishwashing, bagging groceries, cart collecting, food prep, maintenance and house keeping.

There are two types of employment options, the individual placement and the enclave placement. Individual placement is where the job coach remains on the job site providing daily training until the worker is able to independently perform his/her job to the employer’s satisfaction. Once the training is completed, supports are given on as needed.

Enclave placement is for those needing more support to sustain employment. An enclave consists of several workers employed at the same job site, working the same hours. The job coach trains each worker in their job and then remains at the job site for the entire length of employment providing job assistance and training as needed.

In addition, our Work Activity Program seeks sub-contracted jobs where the following skills are used: collating, packaging, stuffing envelopes, light assembly jobs, fly/coupon distribution, and sorting.
